Patchwork Players

PWtempArtThe PATCHWORK PLAYERS – 2017-style!   These talented performers put their own original twist on classic tales and themes designed for the kid in everyone.  On the road and onstage at the Weathervane, exhuberant, energetic, and experienced one and all, they offered hour-long musical shows on our Mainstage Friday mornings at 11:00 a.m. – and traveled to area venues on Wednesday mornings bringing live theatre to North Country towns.

The 2017 lineup offered familiar characters and new ones, too . . . and you can see all four on our YouTube Channel.

Book, Music, Lyrics by Jacques Stewart
Told by ten kids who cannot wait for their summer break to begin! (Sound familiar?) With energy and enthusiasm, we follow them as they sing and romp their way through those last when-will-it-ever end days of school; from homeroom to rally to a surprise Fairy Tale contest.

ANNE OF GREEN GABLES – A Classic Story Musical
Adapted by Jacques Stewart and Maia Matsushita; reimagined Country-Folk-Rock musical
The enchanting children’s story set in Avonlea on Prince Edward Island surprises and captivates when the childless Cuthberts get more than they bargained for with the adoption of not the boy they expected but a red-haired, freckled girl arrives.  Enjoy this stylish and updated brand new and musical retelling.

THE MARK OF ZORRO – A Hip Hop Adventure
Book, Music, Lyrics by Jacques Stewart
The original masked crime fighter, Zorro, made his first appearance in a 1919 fiction – and joins us here in a high energy, hip hop musical adventure.  The popularity of his heroic exploits crosses appeals in all cultures, and the razor-sharp sword and wit set to contemporary Latin-style music endures.  Meet Zorro, bumbling Sgt. Gonzales, a mysterious Senorita and more.

Compilation of material from multiple authors and composers.
“Slam” style stories are fun – and this one offers tales told in song and dance. Part competition, part variety show, expect an energetic performance featuring themes from a diverse collection of authors and composers . . . and audience participation, too!

pwDeckgrammaFriday performances at the Weathervane are followed by refreshments – thank you to Grandma’s Kitchen!. . .  and all appearances offer a post-show time to meet the talented actors and ‘stars’ of Patchwork performances.

Their performances will also be enjoyed as part of the Mainstage repertory all summer long in select productions – and in their end-of-Season Showcase they perform as themselves, singing favorite standards from their personal repertoire.  See their schedule HERE
