Spotlight

Spotlight on support – and celebration!  Lots of nominations – and three winners – provided state-wide recognition at the 15th Annual Theatre Awards.

Congratulations to our winners:  Best Professional Actress/Musical, Georgia Kate Haege (Bizon); Best Professional Actor/Musical, Clyde Voce; and Best Supporting Actor/Musical, Dwayne Washington….and to our finalists for Best Director, Diane DiCroce; Best Supporting Actress, Katie Mariko Murray; Best Costume Design, Rien Schecht; and Best Professional Musical Production ‘The King And I.”

Of course, while celebrating Season 51, we’re looking forward to a successful Season 52 In the cold months of winter, we’re thinking of summer!  And hoping to build on partnerships and collaborations that will continue to grow and sustain support of our performance, programs, and planning.

Last summer, we came up with a way to celebrate using our iconic drum symbol and partnering with a wide range of North Country artists.  We invited some of the best creative artists in the region to decorate our drums in their own style – and held an online auction, now closed successfully.  We held a ‘Grand’ Raffle – with multiple prizes and winners, raising over $13,000 in tickets sold.

And we invited audiences to help us meet the challenge of fulfilling our Annual Fund goal – and with the help of a generous benefactor and the support of many, we were able to ‘Meet the Match,’ raising over $15,000 to receive a matched amount.

Our ANNUAL FUND is the means by which we are able to keep our ticket pricing affordable, offer the great choices of productions, and continue to offer the many programs in addition to our Mainstage rep:  Patchwork Players, our Intern Program, Windsock Camp and the new Cabaret Company . . . and we look to your gift in support of 40% of our operations.

You can show your support all year round – thank you to those who closed 2016 with a gift to the Weathervane.  You can make a single or repeating contribution all year round by visiting our secure online portal service at Just Give.
