Giving – and winning – made for a Grand Season 52!  Our Broadway Getaway Raffle was a huge success:  of the 400 tickets, one winner was chosen and (drum roll, please), we were delighted to see Dr. Clara Osorio win the very Grand Prize!

Worth thousands of dollars, she and a companion will be able to spend three nights at the beautiful Shelburne Hotel, and enjoy orchestra seats to both Hello, Dolly! and The Lion King.  They’ll also enjoy a backstage tour, and optional pre-show toast with Weathervane Co-founder and Artistic Director . . . and they’ll have $500 spending money to navigate the Big Apple!  Congratulations to her; and many, many thanks to all of you who purchase raffle tickets in support of the Weathervane.

We count on your generous gifts throughout the year to help us meet our financial responsibilities.  Your contributions to the Annual Fund and other initiatives help guarantee each Season’s success behind the scenes.  Like other not-for-profit arts organizations, we rely on charitable giving for up to 40% of our annual budget . . . and that doesn’t include extraordinary circumstances like the capital costs of the post-fire rebuild, ongoing completion, and residence acquisition.

This year, we’ve faced some extraordinary challenges . . . and one generous benefactor is challenging our audiences and friends to help wipe out the anticipated shortfall before it happens — also put us on steady ground for Season 53.

The CHALLENGE:   August 4th, we were made an offer:  If – and only IF – we were able to raise $40,000 by September 2 (Labor Day weekend), the Weathervane would receive a $40,000 gift match.  So of course, we hoped our audiences and friends would respond with new or increased gifts during those scant weeks — and they did!  We reached a successful conclusion and have met our match!  Thank you, one and all.

Of course, after we wind up our fiscal year on September 30, we will continue with our traditional – and necessary – ways to support the Weathervane as we embark on a new year and work toward the 53rd Season
There are many ways you can make your gift count, and several initiatives:

Annual Fund gifts support overall operations and help underwrite ticket prices, keeping them affordable and allowing us to offer considerable planned (and in-season flash) special offers.  Our operational costs depend on your Annual Giving.

– Capital costs to Restore – Rebuild – Rededicate the Theatre buildings are still being paid for, and the acquisition of the Spalding property is an investment in our future.  You can help us and future audiences to come with a RRRcapitalGift2016 toward our physical property.  There are still NAMING opportunities at the Theatre property, please inquire.

– The Chase Scholarship Fund, named for Will Chase and Lucy Chase Sparks, honors their encouragement of young, aspiring performers at the Chase Barn by offering tuition-reduction scholarships to enrolled students in our Intern Program.  You make or designate a portion of your gift to the Chase Scholarship Fund.

– Become a member of the Murray-Haas Legacy Circle by pledging an estate gift intent as part of your planning.  Legacy gifts are not specified by amount, but by designating the Weathervane as part of your planning:  look for coming form & information here and on the ‘your gift now’ tab.

You can also make an immediate or sustained (amount per month) gift using our secure portal at Just Give.
Or download more information and giving forms on this site at Your Gift Now.
